EcoFit Lighting designs, manufactures, and sells high-output LED lighting modules for overhead streetlights. Compared to the high pressure sodium bulbs currently in use, EcoFit’s LED modules slash energy consumption by 60%, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and last up to 10 times longer (20+ years) with no scheduled maintenance – all while providing a higher quality of light output. Competitors’ LED products require replacement of the entire streetlight fixture for upwards of $600, while EcoFit Lighting’s products are installed in existing fixtures, saving installation time and reducing customers’ investment. EcoFit seeks to enter the U.S. market during 2009, which represents 35M streetlights owned and operated by utilities and municipalities.
